The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Heritage is committed to empowering a thriving community that values, celebrates and supports its uniqueness, talents and diversity. “Weh We From” is an integrated education and awareness campaign that focuses on building national pride and supporting the Ministry’s purpose of “Preserving Our Past and Strengthening Our Future.”

Our ‘Weh We From’ campaign’s initiatives include:

• The addition of five (5) new national symbols
• Caymanian Dialect
• Emancipation Day
• National Treasures: Stories & tutorial videos on Caymanian practices
• Heritage Books
• Heritage Apprenticeship Programme
• Cayman Folk Singers

These initiatives align with the Ministry’s priority of “Awareness and Preservation of our Culture and Heritage” as well as the Cayman Islands Government’s 2024 – 2026 broad outcome to “protect and promote Caymanian culture, heritage and identity.”
