MRCU Battles Elevated Mosquito Numbers as Data Shows Encouraging Decline
Despite the challenges, MRCU remains optimistic as the data show mosquito numbers trending down. However, with the recent rainfall, additional mosquito emergences are expected. Mosquito numbers commonly increase around 10 days after heavy rainfall events, depending on the amount of standing water and conditions in breeding areas

Since 1965, we’ve used a combination of physical, biological, and chemical methods to manage mosquito levels in a way that’s effective, safe, and sustainable. Through our research, public outreach, and sharing of resources, MRCU is committed to being a trusted source of knowledge and support. We strive to empower residents with the information and tools they need to create a safer, healthier community.
