2 October 2024 | Blog | By: CIG Communications

The Cayman Islands Civil Service College is excited to announce that the new Civil Service College Learning Management System (LMS) – CSC ONLINE is officially live and available to all civil servants, effective today, October 3, 2024.

This milestone is a testament to the government's commitment to modernising public service and elevating it to a world-class standard. CSC Online, powered by one of the top five rated global learning management system providers, stands out as a comprehensive solution that integrates and consolidates all crucial learning resources across CIG. It’syour one-stop platform for all things learning!

This significant investment underscores the value placed on providing every civil servant with the tools needed to grow and excel in their careers, fostering a highly skilled and knowledgeable workforce.

Deputy Governor and Head of the Civil Service Hon. Franz Manderson expressed strong support for this transformative initiative, stating: “Talent development continues to be a priority across the Civil Service. Each year we continue to strategically focus on readying our civil servants to perform at their best today while intentionally implementing strategic learning solutions to build capabilities for the future. The thought of learning at the fingertips of every civil servant is truly game-changing. In addition, the rapid changes that exist globally and within our local environment require a very agile and efficient workforce.Providing learning at scale in a mobile-friendly way to every civil servant is exciting. I therefore urge each civil servant to make this opportunity count. Get connected to the CSC Online platform, develop new skills and pursue excellence.”

Portfolio of the Civil Service Chief Officer Gloria McField-Nixon, a pivotal supporter of this project, remarked: “Implementation of the new Learning Management System, CSC Online, is a further investment by the Cayman Islands Government to strengthen Talent Development within the Civil Service. This CSC Online is a key component in modernisingthe delivery of HR services and will gradually integrate with other HR systems. CSC Online has been designed with the user in mind. Attaining the current milestone, where we can offer a unified solution that integrates learning across the CIG is a proud achievement. Our vision for CSC Online is to provide all Civil Servants with access to functional, compliance, and competency development programmes at your fingertips, regardless of your role within the Civil Service. Additionally, the ability to measure learning and its impact in real time is a substantial benefit. Gone are the days when a civil servant will have to sift through piles of documents to track their learning history, or when accuratereporting would require considerable efforts to pull data from numerous standalone systems and to compile that information manually. Going forward, the CSC Onlineplatform will undoubtedly enhance the learning experience and CIG’s ability to measure learning attainments. I encourage each of you to embrace this opportunity fully and toreap the benefits of this improved learning experience."

What Can You Expect?

Starting today, you can log on to the CSC Online platform and take advantage of:

The launch of CSC Online introduces a wealth of learning opportunities tailored to enhance your professional growth and development and we strongly encourage every civil servant to make full use of this resource. I will use this opportunity to thank the dedicated team that worked to make this project a reality, project lead –Learning Programmes Manager – Tavia Pajcic, Deputy Director – Ruth Sparks, Senior Project Manager – Jerome White and his team, along with Strategic HR Policy Advisor – Jo Richards and her team.
