A New GOV.KY

The Cayman Islands Government has launched the new and improved GOV.KY, a major step forward in how people access trusted information and government services online.

This upgrade strengthens the foundation of the Government’s digital presence by making the site faster, clearer and easier to use. The new GOV.KY is designed to better support residents, businesses, visitors and the Civil Service while creating a platform that can grow with the needs of our community.

As of launch, 43 ministry, portfolio, department and campaign websites are now live on the new system, with more to be added in early 2026.

What's New

The redesigned GOV.KY introduces several improvements that deliver a more modern and reliable experience:

  • Improved search and filtering capabilities which make it faster and more accurate to locate the information you are looking for.

  • Cleaner, more intuitive navigation to help users explore GOV.KY with clearer menus and well-organised sections.

  • A better mobile experience across phones, tablets, laptops and desktops.

  • Faster load times to ensure pages load quickly, even on mobile or slower connections.

  • Built-in accessibility and security features  that create a more inclusive, secure, and reliable experience for all users.

  • Enhanced privacy which gives users greater control over their data and how third-party content is displayed. (For example, YouTube videos or other embedded content will only play if you choose to give your consent.)

  • Built-in feedback tools, such as the HappyOrNot Smiley Digital to help us understand what’s working well and where we can improve.

What's Next

This is the first phase of a long-term modernisation effort. More government websites, information and serviceswill be added throughout next year along with new features.

To ensure continuity and access to historical information, the previous version of GOV.KY remains available in the Government archive at cigarchives.gov.ky

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find quick answers about Beta.GOV.KY including what’s new, what’s changing, and how you can share feedback as we continue improving the site.

GOV.KY is being replatformed because the current content management system (CMS) is reaching the end of its life and will no longer be supported. This presents both a challenge and an opportunity: a challenge to ensure continuity of service, and an opportunity to modernise how the Cayman Islands Government delivers information and online services.

Ultimately, the replatforming is about building a future-ready GOV.KY that supports transparency, accessibility, and effective communication between the Government and the people it serves.

GOV.KY is optimised for Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox.

The migration of content and microsites to the new GOV.KY is being done in phases to ensure stability, accuracy, and minimal disruption to users.

During the transition period, new sites, pages and features were added regularly. This phased rollout allowed us to refine the experience, address issues and gather feedback.

Migration was completed on 1 December 2025, when the new GOV.KY officially replaced the previous wensite. The information most relevant to the public — especially content published after the April 2025 election — was prioritised to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

With Phase 1 now complete, work will continue in 2026. Users can expect ongoing updates, more content, and new features designed to make information easier to find and online services simpler to use.

No. Online services provided by ministries and departments will continue to operate as usual.

Most of the information is still available, but some sections may have new or improved locations. To get the best experience, it’s a good idea to remove old bookmarks and save new ones from the updated GOV.KY website instead. If you cannot find what you are looking for, try the improved search bar at the top of every page. It is the quickest way to locate services, news, and information.

Yes. During the transition, you can still access the previous version of GOV.KY through the Government’s archive at cigarchives.gov.ky. Nothing has been removed, and older publications, press releases, and other historical materials from the previous GOV.KY websites will still be available.

Over time, selected materials may also be reintroduced to the new website as ncessary. In the meantime, cigarchives.gov.ky remains the best source for accessing historical government information.

You can find an index of all archived sites here.

The archived websites contain older content that was migrated from our previous platform without redesign or updates. Its purpose is to preserve historical information exactly as it was originally published. Because of this, some pages on the archive website may look different from the new GOV.KY — including layout, formatting, design, and navigation.

The new GOV.KY ensures a consistent look and feel by following updated design standards that improve accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and the overall user experience. Over time, more content will be added into the new platform, but the archive will remain available to ensure continued public access to historical records as at 25 November 2025.

You can use the HappyorNot Smiley on each page or the feedback form to report an issue. This helps us fix problems quickly and inform future improvements.

GOV.KY was designed with ease of access in mind. View the web tour below to help you start your journey. If you are encountering difficulty with any of our pages, feel free to contact us.
