Overview
The National Drug Council (NDC) is seeking enthusiastic and motivated university students or recent high school graduates to join our team as Summer Interns. This opportunity offers real-world exposure to the fields of public health, research, education, and community development.
Stipend: CI$1,500 to CI$2,200 per month, based on your academic status.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
• Assisting with the delivery of education, research, and public awareness campaigns
• Supporting the development of prevention materials and outreach content
• Participating in research and data collection projects
• Assisting with public presentations, event coordination, and community engagement
• Supporting programme delivery in schools, public forums, and stakeholder meetings
• Collaborating with mentors and team members across multiple NDC initiatives
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Eligibility Criteria:
• Students must have completed Year 12 or the equivalent (1st year A Levels, Dual Enrollment, CIFEC, etc.)
or;
• Students must have completed A Levels, an associate’s degree or equivalent and are taking a gap year or;
• Currently enrolled in a university programme or have completed their first year of university; or higher.
Relevant areas of study include: Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Youth & Community Studies, Education, Health Informatics or Statistics, Public or Social Policy, Public Administration, Health Communications, Marketing, Digital or Social Media, or Law
Key Competencies:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Interest in public health, youth development, or community wellbeing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, the Internet, and Social Media platforms.
• Familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is an asset
• Professionalism, reliability, and initiative
Submission Details
Internship Periods:
Internships typically occur between June and August. Individual internship placement periods may vary, with an estimated 4 – 12 weeks of placement opportunities.

The personal statement should demonstrate the applicant’s interest in an internship with the National Drug Council, outline their academic background and areas of study, and explain how the internship would support their professional development, interests, and future career aspirations.
