Jovanna Ebanks Wright Wins Coveted Employee of the Year Award
Elation filled the room as Jovanna Ebanks Wright, Principal of the Sir John A Cumber Primary School, was named the Cayman Islands Government (CIG) Employee of the Year for 2025. Mrs Wright was given the top civil servant award at a ceremony held at the Kimpton Seafire Resort on Thursday, 16 April, in front of top government officials, civil servants and loved ones.

Civil Servants Recognised for Professional Certification Achievements
Eighty-one civil servants were recognised last month at the annual Professional Certification Programme Awards Ceremony hosted by the Deputy Governor’s Strategic Reforms Implementation Unit (SRIU) at the Government Administration Building.

His Majesty's Governor, Her Excellency Jane Owen, today announced the appointment of Mrs Gloria McField-Nixon, Cert. Hon., JP, as the new Deputy Governor and Head of the Cayman Islands Civil Service Designate. Mrs McField-Nixon will take up her appointment on 8th July 2026.
CIG Opens Application for Summer Internship Programme
Caymanian students who hold a government scholarship and will be 17 years of age or older by 1 May 2026 are encouraged to apply at careers.gov.ky. The deadline to submit applications is 31 March 2026

Deputy Governor Manderson Announces Retirement
Today (Wednesday, 13 August 2025) the Deputy Governor, Honourable Franz Manderson gave notice of his intention to retire from the Cayman Islands Civil Service next year. The retirement will take effect on 7 July 2026.
