How do I become Naturalised / Registered as a British Overseas Territory Citizen (BOTC)?

Applications can be submitted through BOTC Online Portal.

The current fees are:

CI$1,800 for Naturalisation as a BOTC (applicants aged 18 and over)

CI$1,300 for Registration as a BOTC

These fees include a non-refundable application fee of CI$500.

Please note that the application status updates shown on the online portal are accurate. Due to a high volume of applications, we kindly request that enquiries be kept to a minimum and directed to botc@gov.ky, only where absolutely necessary.

The average processing time is currently approximately 6–12 months, although this may vary depending on individual circumstances and other external factors.

Applicants will receive written notification of the outcome of their application via email at the email address provided in their application. If your application is approved, you will be invited to attend a pledge ceremony, where you will receive a Certificate of Naturalisation from the Office of the Deputy Governor (ODG). You may then proceed to apply for your British Overseas Territories Citizen passport.
