Sustainability in Action - An Overview
The United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development outlines 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are considered the blueprint to achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. The SDGs are a call-to action structured around the five pillars of the UN’s 2030 Agenda: people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnerships.
The Cayman Islands Government (CIG) has made sustainability a priority and is taking steps to promote sustainable processes and practices across government. Through a range of initiatives, the government has signaled its commitment to weave sustainability into the fabric of all government processes and operations.
Arising from this strategic imperative is the Sustainable CIG campaign, which aims to make to make the CIG the most sustainable and climate resilient employer in the Cayman Islands. The campaign’s main focus areas include:

- To increase awareness about the need for sustainable thoughts and actions, and
- To provide access to information for employees to adopt a sustainable mindset
