Cayman Delegation Attends World Premiere of "The Bluff"

On Tuesday, 17 February, a delegation from the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage attended the world premiere of The Bluff, the latest feature film by Caymanian filmmaker Frank E. Flowers, at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
The delegation included the Hon. Isaac Rankine, Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage; Chief Officer, Teresa Echenique; Mr. Christopher Saunders, MP and other ministry representatives. The premiere drew a packed audience, with industry professionals, invited guests, and supporters gathering to view the film, followed by a post-screening reception celebrating the production.
While in Los Angeles, the Minister and the delegation also toured the AGBO Studios, where they viewed props and materials from The Bluff and other major film productions. The visit provided an opportunity to learn more about the filmmaking process and to engage with members of the production team.
Minister Rankine acknowledged that the experience was a proud moment for the Cayman Islands. “It was truly an honour to represent the Cayman Islands at the world premiere of The Bluff. Seeing a Caymanian filmmaker achieve success on the international stage is inspiring and demonstrates what is possible for our young people who aspire to have careers in creative industries. I am proud of the example Frank E. Flowers has set for the next generation of creatives.”
Two years ago, the Ministry Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage facilitated a Cayman Brac familiarization trip for the lead actress, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas and production team. During her visit, she experienced our culture and our people and we were pleased to play this role in supporting the production and adding authenticity to the film. The Ministry congratulates Frank E. Flowers on the success of his film and looks forward to continued opportunities to support Caymanian excellence in the arts and creative industries.
