What We Do

The Ministry of Social Development & Innovation exists to enhance quality of life in the Cayman Islands by empowering people, strengthening communities, and driving responsible innovation across government. We advance social development while modernising public services and internal systems to deliver more accessible, efficient, and resilient support for all.

Guided by our mission to reinforce the social fabric of our Islands, we deliver inclusive, people-centred services and lead the digital transformation of government. Our goal is to ensure that every individual and family has access to the care, resources, and opportunities they need—while building a modern public service anchored in secure technologies, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

Our work is carried out through five key departments:

  • Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS)
  • Department of Financial Assistance (DFA)
  • Department of eGovernment
  • Computer Services Department
  • Cyber Security Unit
and three boards/committees:

  • Adoption Board
  • Film Exhibition (Control)
  • Board Housing Repairs Committee

Together, we are committed to our vision: to lead a new era of public service where inclusive social policies, accessible services, and responsible innovation empower every person and community in the Cayman Islands.

The Ministry of Ministry of Social Development & Innovation consists of the core ministry office and we have responsibility to oversee the performance of five departments, one statutory authority and three boards and committees.
