Sustainable CIG

The Cayman Islands Civil Service is deeply committed to building a more sustainable future. We believe that true success goes beyond the achievement of performance indicators – it is about making a difference in the world. For us, sustainability is not just a goal, it is an essential part of how we operate, innovate and grow. This is why we are taking deliberate and meaningful steps to reduce our environmental footprint and promote ethical, sustainable practices across all areas of our operations.

Guided by our commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible business practices, we are dedicated to:

1.

Embedding sustainability in Cayman Islands Government’s operational policies and practices

2.

Increasing awareness about the need for sustainable thoughts and actions across the Civil Service

3.

Providing access to information to support civil servants as they translate their sustainable mindset into sustainable actions.

Our approach is rooted in employee involvement, collaboration, innovation, accountability and transparency. Through cross-agency partnerships, and a growing sustainability champions network, we are developing solutions that balance our success with environmental and social responsibility. These collaborative efforts are key to advancing sustainability efforts across the Civil Service.

Together with our civil servants, clients and communities, we are committed to the vision of creating positive change and contributing to a healthier, more sustainable world by embedding sustainable practices into our business as usual. As we embark on this journey, we are pleased to share our initiatives and progress and inspire change.

Sustainability Tips

Switch to digital documents and cloud storage instead of printing.

Reducing paper use not only saves trees but also cuts costs and waste.

If printing is unavoidable, use both sides of the paper and opt for recycled materials. Small changes in government offices can lead to big environmental impacts
