CINAA Invites Qualified Applicants for the Following Position: Tour Guide at Pedro St. James 

The Tour Guide at Pedro St. James is responsible for welcoming visitors to the historic site and delivering engaging guided tours and educational programs. The role supports the preservation and promotion of Caymanian culture, heritage, and history by providing an enjoyable and informative visitor experience while ensuring the site's safety and security.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct guided tours and educational programs for visitors.
• Welcome, orient, and assist visitors throughout the site.
• Interpret the history and significance of Pedro St. James through engaging storytelling and presentations.
• Research historical materials to enhance interpretive programming.
• Assist with light housekeeping and the protection of artefacts and facilities.
• Report maintenance concerns and security issues promptly.
• Assist with visitor safety and report suspicious or intoxicated individuals.
• Support management with additional assigned duties as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• College coursework in history, education, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Caymanian history and willingness to learn the history of Pedro St. James.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with groups, including children.
• Ability to conduct engaging presentations and interpretive programs.
• Experience with storytelling, acting, or performance is an asset.
• Ability to use audio-visual and electronic equipment.
• Flexible, dependable, and able to work weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
