Overview

The Cayman Turtle Conservation and Education Centre (CTCEC) is seeking a dynamic, guest-focused and experienced Part-Time Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. The Bartender (Part-Time) is responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering exceptional and memorable guest experiences at our bar, pool and special events.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent beverage knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The role will also support broader Food & Beverage Front of House operations and may involve cross-training and assisting in other areas as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Bartender (Part-Time) is responsible for providing friendly and efficient beverage service, preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, assisting guests with recommendations and upselling, and ensuring a positive guest experience. Maintains the bar area, equipment, and inventory in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition.

Handles payments and cash accurately, follows responsible alcohol-service practices, verifies identification when required, and complies with all company, health, safety, and food and beverage standards. Assists with menu promotions, inventory, and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager – Restaurants & Events.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • A valid Driver’s Licence.
  • A certificate, diploma, general hospitality training, or at least two years of bartending or related hospitality experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous bartending experience in a mid-scale or luxury hospitality environment is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, cocktails and beverage service.
  • Previous experience using POS systems and handling cash, credit/debit card transactions and daily reconciliation.
  • Experience conducting daily inventory and monitoring beverage stock.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent listening, speaking, organizational, time management and multitasking abilities.
  • A proactive, outgoing and guest-focused approach with a positive attitude.
  • The ability to remain composed and professional in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across Food & Beverage operations.
  • Good command of spoken and written English, with the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of Cayman Islands culture, customs, attractions and visitor information is highly desirable.
  • A Food Handlers Certificate is preferred.

This is a part-time position averaging 25 hours per week, with working hours scheduled on a rotating basis according to operational needs.

The successful applicant must be available to work weekends, public holidays, evenings, split shifts and special events, and may be required to assist in other Food & Beverage or operational areas as needed.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, with a starting salary in the range of Grade P: KYD $20,000 – $21,000 per annum.
