Voters Turn Out for Election and Referendum Day

28 September 2025 | Press Release | By: Marsha Ebanks

The polls for the 2025 General Elections and Referendums have officially closed today at 6 PM. Voters across the Cayman Islands have participated in shaping the future of the community through their votes.

Wesley Howell, Supervisor of Elections, stated, “We are grateful to all voters who took the time to cast their ballots today. Every vote matters, and we are proud to support a transparent and efficient electoral process.”  As of the closing of the polls, voter turnout stood at 18,836 ballots for 73.56%. This reflects the dedication of citizens to engage in the democratic process and shows a very slight decrease from 73.81% since the 2021 General Elections.

The counting of the ballots has commenced. Stay tuned to official CIG channels, including www.elections.ky for the latest and most accurate information as the results begin to come through.
