NAU on Confidentiality and Complaints

6 August 2021 | Statement | By: CIG Communications

Needs Assessment Unit (NAU) is disappointed at the recent event where a client broke the confidentiality of another client. The NAU wishes to remind the public that filming is not permitted in NAU facilities without prior permission from senior management.

The NAU values and respects the privacy of all clients. Clients can be assured that their personal information is handled and treated in a confidential manner to ensure privacy is maintained.

If a complaint is received regarding the breach of a client’s personal information, this is investigated and the appropriate action will be taken.

Clients also have the right to complain to the NAU or to the Ombudsman if they believe that their personal data has been breached under the Cayman Islands Data Protection Act 2018.

Requests, questions or complaints may be submitted to the NAU at foi.nau@gov.ky  or naucompliance@gov.ky

Information about the Cayman Islands Data Protection Act and how to complain to the Ombudsman is available on www.ombudsman.ky/data-protection.
