On Thursday, 26 March, the Ministry broke ground to begin the construction of a multi-sport court and a walking and riding track.

This community redevelopment project, which was started in 2025, is designed to enhance recreational opportunities, encourage positive youth engagement, and create a vibrant gathering space for residents and families of East End. The enhancements feature a range of new amenities for people of all ages.

Improvements include:

  • A full-size basketball court
  • Dedicated pickleball courts
  • Five-A-Side football court
  • A Bocce court
  • Full Canopy lighting
  • Cooling fans
  • A walking and cycling track
  • Shaded cabanas and seating areas

Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage, Hon. Isaac Rankine shared, “The upgraded park will provide a safe and inclusive recreational space for residents while promoting stronger community connections and improving the overall quality of life.” He added, “I am grateful to Edgewater Development Ltd. for partnering with us to bring this project to life. Their partnership with this Ministry underscores the importance of collaboration in delivering meaningful community infrastructure.”

Phase one of the project has already been completed, with overall project completion anticipated in December 2026. During the construction period, the public will be kept informed of progress, including any temporary access changes.

This redevelopment reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to investing in community infrastructure that improves quality of life and supports the well-being of residents. Once completed, the renewed park will serve as a central hub for sports, recreation, and community gatherings for years to come.
