Ebola Disease: Frequently Asked Questions May 2026
An outbreak of Ebola disease caused by the Bundibugyo virus has been declared in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Uganda as of 15 May 2026. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared this a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). The Cayman Islands Ministry of Health is monitoring this situation closely and has created this document to help answer questions around ebola disease.
