CIPS Resumes Mail Services to Canada Amid Ongoing Strike
The Cayman Islands Postal Service (CIPS) is advising the public that mail services to Canada have resumed effective Monday, 13 October 2025.
This follows confirmation from Canada Post that international mail is once again being accepted for processing. However, customers are advised to expect delays, as the rotating strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) continues to affect postal operations across various regions in Canada.
Deputy Postmaster General Melissa Martinez-Ebanks explained that while outbound mail to Canada has recommenced, delivery times may vary depending on the strike schedule and regional disruptions within the Canadian postal network. “We’re pleased to resume dispatching mail to Canada,” she said, “but we encourage our customers to remain patient as Canada Post works through operational interruptions caused by the ongoing rotating strike. CIPS will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates as necessary.”
Customers are reminded that these service interruptions are outside of CIPS’s control and that normal delivery times within Canada should not be expected until the industrial action has been fully concluded. CIPS thanks the public for their continued understanding and patience, as international partners work to restore full service reliability.
