Auditors Oversight (Amendment, Validation and Repeal) Bill, 2026 (LG15, S4)

This Bill amends the Auditors Oversight Act to bring its provisions into compliance with the Public Authorities Act, further providing for its eventual repeal in line with the planned winding up of the Auditors Oversight Authority in the near future. 

Key Provisions

• Provides Cabinet with the authority to appoint Board members to the Auditors Oversight Authority, bringing it in line with the provisions of the Public Authorities Act. 
• Outlines eligibility and membership of the Board, including appointment, powers and termination.  
• Validates past actions of the Board and Managing Director, ensuring decisions taken while improperly constituted or appointed remain legally effective. 
• Repeals the Auditors Oversight Act (2020 Revision)
