All Clear Issued Following Earthquake

Hazard Management Cayman Islands (HMCI) confirms that a magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred at 8:42am this morning, approximately 27 miles (44km) south-southeast of Bodden Town, at a depth of 6.2 miles (10km)An ALL CLEAR has been issued . There is no tsunami threat associated with this earthquake, and no significant impacts have been reported at this time.

HMCI advises that aftershocks are possible over the coming hours and days. While most aftershocks are expected to be smaller than the main event, some may be strong enough to be felt.
