British Overseas Territories Citizenship Registration and Naturalisation

Applications for Naturalisation or registration as a British Overseas Territories Citizen has moved to a new portal to improve customer experience. The previous portal is no longer available. You can access the new BOTC online portal using your eServices Sign In account.

Already applied through the previous portal? Your application will continue to be processed. You do not need to apply again. The Office of the Deputy Governor (ODG) will email you if they need more information or when a decision has been made. Applications submitted through the previous portal can no longer be viewed online.

If you started an application in the previous portal that is still in draft and was not submitted, please start a new application in the new portal. Drafts have not been transferred.

If you submitted your application but have not paid, you can make your payment at any local Post Office. Email your receipt to botc@gov.ky.

Fees and processing time

Naturalisation costs CI$1,800 for applicants aged 18 or over. Registration costs CI$1,300. Both fees include a non-refundable CI$500 application fee.

Applications currently take approximately 6–12 months to process, although this may vary. If you apply through the new portal, you can check your application status there.
