Tiffany Yong is our Community Engagement Officer, where she focuses on strengthening community preparedness, public education, and volunteer engagement. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Investigative Forensics and has built her career around public safety and emergency management.

She brings eight years of emergency management experience, including two years of dedicated disaster management experience, to her role. Prior to joining HMCI, she served as a Crime Scene Investigator with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, where she developed skills in incident response, investigations, and working collaboratively with multiple agencies.

As part of the team, Tiffany brings a fresh perspective, determination, and a strong commitment to helping communities become more prepared for emergencies.

What she enjoys most about this field is that, while many hazards cannot be predicted, we can equip people with the knowledge and resources they need to be ready when disasters occur.

In her two years at HMCI, Tiffany has proudly led two annual CaribeWave Tsunami Exercises and was heavily involved in managing the Isolation Support programme during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both initiatives play an important role in strengthening preparedness and response capabilities across the Cayman Islands.

Fun fact: Tiffany is an orchid enthusiast and enjoys growing and caring for a variety of orchids.
