Parliamentary Secretary responsible for Social Development; Education & Training; Tourism
Bio

Since May 2025, Parliamentary Secretary Heather Bodden assumed responsibility for the portfolios of social development, education and training and tourism in the Cayman Islands Government.

In her second term as Member of Parliament for the constituency of Savannah, she was first elected in 2021. During her term, she served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministries of Tourism and Social Development. She was also the Deputy Speaker in the House of Parliament and a member of the Public Accounts Committee.

Prior to this, she was the Bodden Town Member of the Legislative Assembly (now Parliament) from 1995 until 2000. During her tenure, she brought motions that resulted in important community initiatives such as the introduction of disabled parking spots and the creation of a safe house for battered and abused women and children island wide, now known as the Crisis Centre.

Widely known as the face, heart and soul of Savannah, she has devoted her life to helping others in her community. In 2006 she was awarded the Certificate of Honour by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and in 2021 she was given the Order of the Cayman Islands Insignia for her devotion to sustained and selfless voluntary service.
