On Thursday December 5th, the Ministry of Tourism and Ports (MOTP) was honoured to receive an appreciation award from the Lynx and Cobra flag football teams in recognition of the Ministry’s sponsorship for their attendance at the Heroes Flag Football Tournament, held in Nassau, Bahamas, from October 12–13, 2024.

The presentation, made to Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Ports Hon. Kenneth Bryan, celebrated the Ministry’s commitment to supporting local talent and fostering opportunities for Cayman’s athletic abilities to shine on the international stage.

This year’s tournament was an exceptional one, with both the Lynx and Cobra teams bringing home championship trophies—an incredible accomplishment that reflects their hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport.

Deputy Premier Bryan expressed his pride in the teams:

“On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Ports, it’s a tremendous honour to support the Lynx and Cobra teams in representing our Islands with such excellence. Bringing home both trophies was no small feat, and it speaks volumes about the talent, teamwork, and determination of our athletes. Congratulations once again to everyone involved—you’ve made us all incredibly proud!”

The Deputy Premier also added a light-hearted challenge to the teams, saying:

“Of course, now the real work begins—you’ll have to defend these titles next year! We’re excited to see what’s ahead and are committed to continuing our support as you take Cayman to even greater heights.”

The Ministry looks forward to witnessing more outstanding performances from the Lynx and Cobra Cayman teams in the future and remains dedicated to investing in initiatives that uplift Cayman’s communities in all areas.
