Beginning her Civil Service career as an Internal Audit Manager in July 2014, Lauren Knight advanced to Chief Officer of the Portfolio of the Civil Service (PoCS) in just twelve years, reflecting the caliber and capability of Caymanian leadership within the public sector.

Ms Knight’s career reflects exceptional merit, disciplined execution, and a deep commitment to strengthening governance, accountability, and public sector performance across the Cayman Islands Government. She has a distinguished record of leading system‑wide reform, including the comprehensive modernisation of disciplinary provisions and parental leave benefits within the Personnel Regulations.

Prior to her appointment as Chief Officer, Ms Knight served as Deputy Chief Officer (Strategic Operations & Governance) in PoCS, where she provided enterprise‑level leadership across policy development, governance, capability building, and organisational performance.

Ms Knight’s earlier career includes senior leadership roles within the Internal Audit Service and a secondment with the United Kingdom Government’s Internal Audit Agency. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Maine. She is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Government Auditing Professional, Certified Risk Management Assurance practitioner, Certified Public Accountant (not in public practice), and a professionally recognised Workplace Mediator.

In 2021, Ms Knight was awarded the Certificate and Badge of Honour for exceptional service to the Cayman Islands community during the COVID‑19 pandemic.

Ms Knight is the proud mother of three boys and remains actively engaged in youth development and community leadership through mentoring and keynote speaking.
