Human Resources Officer

Overview
The Human Resources Officer will report to the Human Resources Manager and will assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of a wide range of Human Resources activities, policies and programmes. This is a dynamic position requiring an HR professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent service to employees and management.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and supporting the end-to-end recruitment process, including preparing and posting vacancies, responding to applications, screening and shortlisting candidates, coordinating interviews, testing, job offers, reference checks, onboarding and orientation.
- Providing guidance and support to management on performance management, employee relations, coaching, career development and disciplinary matters.
- Communicating, interpreting and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Preparing employment-related correspondence, including contract terms for new hires and transfers, and various HR reports.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential personnel files, HR records and HR databases.
- Processing and tracking Immigration applications and documentation in a timely manner.
- Assisting with the performance management process, including identifying training needs and sourcing and coordinating training programmes.
- Compiling HR data and preparing reports, including monthly headcount and leave reports.
- Assisting with the coordination of staff events and HR initiatives.
- Providing professional and responsive HR support to employees and management.
- Performing other duties and supporting HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a professional HR certification.
- Experience working within an HR department in a medium to large-sized organization.
- Extensive experience processing Immigration documentation and a working knowledge of Cayman Islands Labour, Immigration, Pension and Health Insurance legislation.
- Proven experience managing multiple priorities and working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations professionally and courteously.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- A personable and approachable HR professional who builds trust, communicates openly and respectfully, and works collaboratively while demonstrating integrity, professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, conflict management and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound recommendations for improvement.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- A high level of confidentiality, discretion and professional judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using HR software to maintain and manage employee data.
