GOV.KY Updates To Roll Out This Weekend

As part of its ongoing improvement programme to enhance effective communication, the Department of Communications (DoC) is rolling out an update of the main Cayman Islands Government (CIG) website GOV.KY.  

Aligned with our vision for a World-Class Civil Service, GOV.KY has transformed the way Government delivers news, information and services to our audiences in the Cayman Islands and overseas. As our flagship digital channel, GOV.KY seeks to promote digital democracy and increases transparency and accountability in governance.  

The latest iteration of the GOV.KY website is slated to be tested this weekend beginning Friday, 6 January with some new features including: 

• A central navigation menu for better signposting to the latest Government updates, news, services, contact details, publications, weather and job vacancies. 
• An alert bar that will be key in communicating messages during emergencies and developing crisis situations.  
• A new consent management that will allow users to easily control the activation of cookies and trackers that collect their personal data 
• A new look and feel that aligns with the new CIG brand 

GOV.KY 3.0 builds upon the launch version, which was unveiled in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Housed on a cloud-based content management system, it has allowed for timely delivery of news and information on and off-site effectively. In addition, having a central repository paved the way for digital information management, promoting consistency across webpages. 

While testing is ongoing, users may experience some downtime. Certain pages and functionality might be unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience as we work to improve your GOV.KY experience. 

Once the team successfully completes testing this weekend, they will formally launch the site on Monday, 9 January.
