Filmmaker Hosts Private Screening
Canadian filmmaker Gregory Colbert is currently visiting the Cayman Islands and filming on location while he is here.
His famous exhibit, Ashes and Snow, was attended by over 10 million visitors and travelled to five cities from 2002 to 2008: Venice, New York, Santa Monica, Tokyo and Mexico City. Ashes and Snow is the most visited exhibition of any living artist.
Gregory Colbert will join Government officials and Senior Executives from Dart at a 60 minute private screening of his work this week. The screening will take place at the Camana Bay Cinema and will be followed by an interview and Q&A session with the filmmaker.
Commenting on the production, Minister for Tourism Hon. Kenneth Bryan said “having the Cayman Islands filmed by Gregory Colbert is a tremendous opportunity to raise the awareness of our Islands, while having the unique story of Cayman’s relationship between nature and humanity showcased through Gregory’s lens and groundbreaking vision.”
“We are delighted to host Gregory and his team while they are filming in the Cayman Islands,” shared Jackie Doak, Director at Dart. “Gregory Colbert’s life work, cinematography and storytelling are immensely powerful, his craft raises our consciousnesses, inspires social change and environmental stewardship, both here in the Cayman Islands and around the world.”
