The Mosquito Research and Control Unit (MRCU) recently came together to celebrate Salomon Chavez and recognise his remarkable 21 years of dedicated service, from May 2005 through his final day on 26 September 2026.

Salomon began his career with MRCU as a Junior Workcrew Operator and went on to become an experienced Disease Prevention Officer. Throughout the years, he became a trusted and respected colleague, playing an important role in mentoring, guiding and supporting many of our younger DPOs.

During his farewell celebration, colleagues reflected on Salomon’s kindness, humility, strong work ethic and unwavering willingness to help others. To many, he has been more than a colleague. He has been a mentor, a source of encouragement and, for some, a father figure. No task was ever too big or too difficult, and Salomon could always be counted on to lend a helping hand.

His 21 years of service were also marked by an exemplary record, reflecting the professionalism, dedication and character he brought to MRCU each day.

Salomon, thank you for your outstanding service and for the positive impact you have made on so many colleagues over the years. You will truly be missed by the entire MRCU family.

We wish you good health, happiness and God’s abundant blessings as you begin this well-deserved new chapter.
