Deborah Brown - GOV.KY
Deborah Brown serves as our Recovery Coordination Specialist. She holds a PhD in Public Policy and brings more than nine years of experience in climate change adaptation, disaster risk management, and recovery.
Prior to her current role, she served with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), where she garnered invaluable experience shepherding recovery efforts following major disasters, including wildfires, volcanic eruptions, flooding, and hurricanes — experience that has bolstered her expertise in recovery planning, coordination, and resilience-building across diverse Caribbean contexts.
She is also a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) with a strong interest in facilitating institutional strengthening, promoting operational resilience, and advancing adaptive capacity to help organisations effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from complex disruptions while building long-term resilience.
What drives her in this field is knowing that thorough recovery planning helps communities rebuild stronger and more resilient than before, long after the immediate response has ended.
Fun fact: Outside of work, Deborah enjoys spending quality time with her family and can usually be found watching just about any sport on television.
