Danielle Coleman - GOV.KY
Dani Coleman leads our team as our mighty Director, bringing strategic leadership, operational experience, and a collaborative approach to building safer, more resilient communities.
She qualified as an Attorney in 2004 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Law (BA, LLB), a Master's degree in Law (LLM), and a Master of Arts in Understanding and Securing Human Rights (MA). She is also an International Rotary Peace Fellow and a CI-MAC Accredited Mediator.
With more than 22 years of humanitarian and disaster management experience, her career has included supporting post-tsunami dive recovery efforts in Thailand, relief operations in the British Virgin Islands following Hurricane Irma, and service with the British Red Cross, Cayman Islands Red Cross, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) as a member of the Global Emergency Response Unit and Americas Regional Intervention Team. She received the Cayman Islands Certificate of Honour in 2020 for her contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
No two days are ever the same in this work — and that's what she loves about it. Whether preparing for hurricane season, coordinating the response to large-scale emergencies, or strengthening community resilience, she is passionate about helping people and communities when it matters most.
Beyond her role, Dani serves on the Board of Directors at Jasmine, supporting compassionate hospice and palliative care for individuals and families in the Cayman Islands.
Fun fact: Dani is a qualified yoga teacher and a PADI certified rescue diver — when she's not responding to emergencies, you'll likely find her travelling, diving, or on a yoga mat somewhere finding balance.
