Cybersafe Campaign to Launch

The Government of the Cayman Islands, through its Ministry of Investment, Innovation and Social Development, is excited to announce a call for volunteers from across the community to be part of our Cyber-Safe Community Photo Campaign.
The Government’s Cybersecurity Unit is exceedingly proud that its Summer Interns have played an integral role in planning this campaign, and their contribution is greatly appreciated by the Ministry.
It is often said that “A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words”. At two locations on the 11th and 12th October, 2022, our Cyber-Safe Public Education Campaign will be engaging with community members to take photos with our “Cyber-Safe” message boards.
These boards carry messages with catchphrases that are designed to grab attention, be memorable but most importantly to raise awareness to a broad range of cyber security topics: fake email scams, cyber bullying, the dangers of cyber ransomware, sweet-heart scams and more.
To amplify the campaign messaging, we will distribute Government branded Cyber-Safe merchandise, free of charge, to those who volunteer to be part of our photograph based campaign.
The photographs will be used to create a photo montage board – which will be displayed in our Government Buildings and will be used to create a public information video to be played on the Government’s CIG TV Channel.
If you would like to support this Campaign, please visit our stand - take a photo with us and you will receive a choice of Government branded Cyber-Safe merchandise.
We will be setting up our merchandise stand and photo booth at the Government Administration Building and in Camana Bay at the following dates and times next week:
- Customer Reception, Government Administration Building, 133 Elgin Ave, George Town, Cayman Islands
- Tuesday 11 October 2022 from 11AM to 3PM
- Camana Bay Observation Tower, The Paseo
- Wednesday 12 October 2022 from 12PM to 4PM
Finally, our constant and overriding message is that everyone in our community has a responsibility to be alert and play a role in protecting our community and businesses from cyber-crime.
Each and every one of us can make a difference by staying informed and alert as it is “Better to be Cyber-Safe than Sorry!” We encourage you to visit our website for educational materials, useful tips and guidance: https://www.exploregov.ky/cybersafe
