Cayman Prep’s Annual Harvest Spreads Generosity to DCFS

14 November 2024 | Press Release | By: Hollie Whitelocke

Cayman Prep & High School held its annual Harvest Assembly on 15 October, led by Year 4 students, to express gratitude for the blessings in the community while collecting essential food donations for those in need. The Harvest assembly took place in the festively decorated Primary Hall, with food and items gathered to support the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS).

During the assembly, Mr. Rayle Roberts from DCFS gave an inspiring speech, emphasising the importance of giving back and supporting the less fortunate. "We are deeply touched by the continued generosity of Cayman Prep & High School. These donations go a long way in helping families in our community who are in great need. We thank the school for their steadfast partnership and contribution."

Cayman Prep & High School highlighted the importance of the Harvest festival tradition, stating, “Year 4 led our Assembly as we celebrated Harvest. It was a wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude for our blessings and reflect on members of our community who may be facing difficult circumstances. We demonstrated loving our neighbour by donating food and essential items. We are grateful for the generous contributions from everyone and extend our thanks to Mr. Rayle Roberts for his inspiring interaction with the children during the Assembly and to DCFS for distributing the donations on our behalf.' - Cayman Prep and High School

The donations collected have been distributed by DCFS to local families in need, ensuring that the spirit of Harvest reached homes across the Cayman Islands.
