Annual Healthcare Conference to Spotlight Prevention and Personalised Care
The Cayman Islands Healthcare Conference returns to The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, from 22 to 24 October for its 17th year, under the theme Building Healthier Communities: Advancing Personalised, Preventive, Predictive and Participatory Care. The conference will open with a private sponsors’ dinner on the evening of 22 October, followed by two days of public programming on 23 and 24 October, bringing together local and international experts to explore the future of healthcare.
Registration is now open for the public conference programme, with attendance priced at $25 per person. Members of the public may register for either day or both days at healthcareconference.ky.
“Building healthier communities requires us to think beyond how we respond to illness and focus on helping people stay well,” said Hon. Katherine Ebanks-Wilks, Minister for Health, Environment and Sustainability. “By embracing prevention, innovation and more personalised approaches to care, while empowering people to take an active role in their own health, we can improve health outcomes and build a stronger, healthier Cayman Islands for generations to come.”
This year’s conference is being led by the Ministry of Health, Environment and Sustainability, building on the strong foundation established over many years by the Health Services Authority.
Attendees will also see several enhancements this year, including a refreshed conference website with direct online registration, on-site badge printing and, for the first time, a dedicated conference app. The app will provide convenient access to conference information and session details, while QR code scanning will make it easier to record attendance at CME-eligible sessions. Attendees who participate in these sessions will be able to access their Continuing Medical Education (CME) certificates through the app, based on their recorded attendance.
Exie Tomlinson-Panton, Deputy Chief Officer in the Ministry of Health, Environment and Sustainability and Chair of the Healthcare Conference Organising Committee, said the enhancements are intended to make the conference experience more convenient and engaging for attendees.
“We have put considerable focus this year on improving the overall conference experience, from making registration easier to giving attendees better access to programme information and streamlining how CME participation is tracked and certificates are issued. These enhancements complement a strong programme and will help participants make the most of the conference.”
The programme will explore how healthcare can become more personalised, place greater emphasis on prevention and support the earlier identification of health risks. Topics include community-based prevention, GLP-1 therapies and exercise, adolescent vaccination, hearing and brain health, neuroscience, patient safety and clinical decision-making.
