Finance and Administration Unit

The nature and scope of the Portfolio’s Finance Team is to:

  • Control the financial planning and accounting functions of the Portfolio
  • Ensures compliance in fulfilling the financial requirements of various laws, acts and regulations and international standards.
  • Ensures that all accounting and financial systems of the Portfolio are properly structured and managed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and accounts for the Chief Officer, Heads of Department and senior management and key stakeholders in the Ministry of Finance.
  • Prepare the Portfolio’s Budget in line with the Strategic Policy Statement, including the preparation of forecasted financial statements.
  • Preparation of the Portfolio’s Annual Financial Statements, including accompanying schedules and notes
  • Maintain up-to-date accounting records, including payments, reconciliations, and subsidiary ledgers to support the general ledger and provide timely, accurate financial information. 
  • Provide financial advice to the Chief Officer, Heads of Departments and the senior management team.
  • Be the primary liaison with the Ministry of Finance, Treasury, Budget and Management Unit and Auditor General’s Office
  • Provide oversight of the Entity Procurement Committee (EPC).
