The nature and scope of the Portfolio’s Finance Team is to:
Control the financial planning and accounting functions of the Portfolio
Ensures compliance in fulfilling the financial requirements of various laws, acts and regulations and international standards.
Ensures that all accounting and financial systems of the Portfolio are properly structured and managed in an efficient and timely manner.
Prepare monthly management reports and accounts for the Chief Officer, Heads of Department and senior management and key stakeholders in the Ministry of Finance.
Prepare the Portfolio’s Budget in line with the Strategic Policy Statement, including the preparation of forecasted financial statements.
Preparation of the Portfolio’s Annual Financial Statements, including accompanying schedules and notes
Maintain up-to-date accounting records, including payments, reconciliations, and subsidiary ledgers to support the general ledger and provide timely, accurate financial information.
Provide financial advice to the Chief Officer, Heads of Departments and the senior management team.
Be the primary liaison with the Ministry of Finance, Treasury, Budget and Management Unit and Auditor General’s Office
Provide oversight of the Entity Procurement Committee (EPC).
