The Cayman Islands Olympic Team garnered three personal bests during the XXXII Tokyo Olympics (23 July – 8 August 2021). Competing in the most challenging games of the modern era, Team Cayman’s five athletes nevertheless gave us edge-of-your-seat performances. Their spirit inspired tributes from the Ministry of Sports, the Cayman Islands Government, and the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee.

The Minister responsible for Youth and Sports, Hon. Bernie Bush thanked the Cayman Islands Olympic delegation. “Like many Caymanians, I was so incredibly proud of how Jillian Crooks, Brett Fraser, Kemar Hyman, Raegan Rutty and Shalysa Wray represented the Cayman Islands during Tokyo 2020,” he said.
CI Olympic Pin Sticks Out as Special
Reports suggest that the Cayman Islands Olympic pin, worn during the recent Tokyo games, was one of most sought after of the 206 participating teams. “We are known for our turtle pins,” said Cayman Islands Olympic Committee (CIOC) President Lori Powell whose organisation commissioned the pin.
